Parish Leader Kit
How to Invite and Welcome
In God's Name

The kit includes:
1. A handout for parish leaders on engaging people who attend Mass in our parish
only occasionally. This article is reproducible and should be read by your whole team.
Feel free to save a copy and email it to youth ministry folks, adult formation committee
members, or anyone else you know would benefit from these insights.

2. A brilliant podcast on Engagement to help you get focused. You’ll be able to
share this with your whole team. It is an MP3 file and plays on any computer or other
device that accepts MP3 format. Honestly, it's brilliant. Leisa Anslinger lays out here the
steps that are needed and the ideas behind the movement to invite and welcome folks to
a fruitful Lent as a first step in becoming active again in parish life.

3. A reproducible flier to distribute at Masses. It is titled, We Are the
People of God, and you're part of the family
. This is a real gem. Copy and
distribute this widely at Masses throughout the year. Hand it to every visitor.

4. A PowerPoint slide deck with presenter notes to help you talk with your
leaders about this. You get the actual PowerPoint here and you can modify and adjust it
to suit local needs.

5. Out to the Highways and Hedgerows, a method and program to help you train
your active parishioners to reach out to those who are not engaged when the moment is
right. This resource has 5 elements:
How do we invite people whom we
rarely see at Mass to be more active?
